The GModRP Experiment - Facepunch gets to tell me what to do 2013 Empty The GModRP Experiment - Facepunch gets to tell me what to do 2013

2013 2013 2013 this thread right here</a> brought up a very interesting topic. Go over and read it you lazies.

Back? Good, so you know what this is. They wanted a DarkRP server to prove DarkRP could be fun if the right people ran it, and people actually played along with the RP in a silly way; we can do that right? Good. So here's the spheel:

I'm willing to donate my server to do this. My community is small, and it's mostly a group of 15 or so friends that come on occasionally when we're not doing real life things, though I'm on as often as I can be. The server is running DarkRP on rp_downtown_v2 for now, as it was easy to set up and that was the topic of the experiment, but from here one out, this is for you guys; I want as many suggestions, as much feedback, as much critique as possible so we can make this work. I ran a test a little earlier, and while we only had 6~ people on, it was pretty fun, and I imagine with the full 24, it'd be more than enjoyable.

So, if you have ideas for the map, the theme, the gamemode, all that razzle dazzle, post it here. We'll keep it simple for a few days, just DarkRP, but the more you guys give me, the more I can work on, the more fun I can make it. For a feel of what it's all about:

Okay guys here's the procedure, the server is being run with vanilla DarkRP on rp_downtown_v2, as it's one of the more common maps and I feel everyone has the map, and is comfortable there for now. I'm not giving anyone admin, period, and while donations are appreciated, they won't get you anything except a pretty chat tag. I'm going to assume the survey went over basic ideologies in reference to roleplay, but here are my personal rules:

1. Stay in character. Even if your character is a sleazy black man named Snoop Dogg who sells dope and reads children hentai manga, with a soft spot for kittens, you should stay in-character. Be as silly as you want, while making at least some sense, and don't act like a douchenozzle. If I see you going around screaming "lol gimme guns or ima shoot you" without you making some attempt to act like your character, there will be punishments. That being said, this isn't meant to be serious; be a gangster, rob stores and people, make bases in the subways, but do it while remaining in character. You shoud only kill when it would make sense for your character; even if you're a terrorist, terrorists do more than randomly find a place and shoot people there. Plan, pretend, have fun.

2. NLR is a thing, but that doesn't mean just don't go back to where you died. It means, if you were Suzy the Whore and were murdered by a sleazy fat guy who hired you, when you respawn, you're someone else. Sure you can be Liza the Whore, but have some originality; you're no longer the same person, embrace the chance to be someone new.

3. No prop idiocy like driving props or hitting people; this stuff is simple, just don't do it, alright? Use common sense, I shouldn't, and won't, write out every scenario point by point. If someone takes you hostage, roleplay it out.

The server does have a couple of more necessary addons, with things such as stacker, textfields, PAC3, Customizable Third Person (if you'd rather feel like you're controlling your character than if you are your character) weight, necessary things that people need to play. I won't add wire, at least not yet, as it's a lot of work to get running and sucks up resources like a hog. On the note of PAC3, I expect that outfits will remain as clothing on a character, rather than as full blown outfits. No floating babies and orbs of light, you're still a person, this is just to add accessories to that person.

</div>Good feedback in that old thread, but I want to hear what you guys want. Silly, but serious, catch my drift? Fun.
